North Stone Lake

An electromagnetic survey by TREMAINE uncovered previously unknown prehistoric sites near North Stone Lake, demonstrating the effectiveness of their technology in detecting archaeological remains in areas with challenging terrain and vegetation.

North Stone Lake

Two prehistoric archaological sites, CA-SAC-89 and CA-SAC-420, were known to exist near North Stone Lake in the Stone Lakes Wildlife Refuge. An electromagnetic conductivity survey using TREMAINE'S Discover™ revealed several previously unknown prehistoric sites on a buried natural levee. Our Underground Survey™ technology is ideally suited for regions with moderate-to-high sedimentation rates and terrain where surfaces are obscured by grass, brush, or patchy vegetation.
